- Challenge 2: (Vertical) Click the title to see the exercise. The FitWall® KickBack: While on the FitWall®, holding on with your hands, you must lift one foot off the wall lifting your knee to your chest then kick straight back and outward touching a target 10 times before letting that foot touch the wall again. Then switch legs and repeat with the other leg. Without touching the ground in any way you move around to the next side of the FitWall® QuadColumn to do the next challenge.
- Challenge 3: (Vertical) Click the title to see the exercise. The FitWall® Double Rope Ascent/Descent: Men: While off the ground you must cross the ropes in front of you then work your way down to the last foot hold and move your hands down to the lowest marked position on the ropes. Both hands and feet must be at the lowest positions before the GO will be given to ascend the FitWall® as fast as possible. While ascending you must move your hands up each rope grabbing and holding on to the rope between every marked position. If you skip a hand position you will have to stop and descend down two complete hand positions to begin ascending again. Ascend to the highest hand position then bring both feet above the foot marker and wait to hear the GO to descend the FitWall® in reverse order until your hands and feet are at their lowest marked positions. When told DONE you will stay on the wall and move around to the next side of the FitWall® QuadColumn to start the next challenge.
- Challenge 4: (Vertical) The Slot Hook: While still on the FitWall®, you now move to the bottom and pick up a Hook that has a handle attached to a resistance band on each side of you. Move the hook up to the first slotted hole and hook it in place. Let it go and reach down with the other hand and move the second hook in the first slot then let go. Grab the other hook and move it to the second slotted hole, then the second hook up to the second hole, then the third, fourth and so on until you have hooked both hooks in the last slotted hole. Then you reverse moving the hooks down one slot at a time back to the first/bottom slotted hole. If you skip a hole on either side going up you will have to move it down two holes to begin again. Without getting off the FitWall®, move around to the next side and begin the next challenge.
- Challenge 5: (Vertical) Click the title to see the exercise. Ab-Hop In/Out: Holding on to the designated hand holds, start with both feet on the bottom two foot holds. Then jump/hop both feet up to the next level foot hold in the center, then hop both feet up to the next level outside footholds, then up to the center, up to the outside, up to the center, up to the outside and then back down in reverse going in and out. You must hop from the bottom to the top ten times and then back to the bottom. If you skip or miss a level with your feet, you must go back down or up to the last correct level depend on the direction you are going. Listening for the GO to begin again. When you hear "done" you touch the floor with your feet to stop the clock.
IMPORTANT: Remember, that once you are on the FitWall® and your hands and feet are off the floor, you can not touch the floor with any part of your body until you have completed that last vertical challenge. If you touch the floor or the sides of the FitWall® Quad Column your challenge ends. You will be given 4 points for the challenges you have completed. In the event that no one finish all five challenges, the person going the farthest will get the 4 bonus points, the 2nd farthest or fastest to the same point will get 3 bonus points, 2 points for 3rd and 1 for 4th.
The ultimate goal is to be in the top 4 do the most and go the farthest to move on to the finals.
The top four men and top four women will compete against each other in a final vertical FitWall® Challenge that will be announced just before the final event.
The count and decision of the judge or referee will be final. No arguing with officials permitted. Unsportsmanlike conduct can result in the competitor being disqualified and not permitted to move on to the next challenge or the finals.
Please note that all of the challenges above must be completed within the allotted time period scheduled. See your event schedule for times. Competitors should rest between challenges, but be careful not to wait too long between challenges that you run out of time to get the all completed.
The FitWall® Challenge is required with a minimum of two other events to be eligible to move on to the finals.
A competitor is allowed to pass on one challenge except for the FitWall® Challenge. Note the more challenges you do the more points you build, but you can potentially do well in only 2 challenges and go to the finals.
The idea is to work and try harder than you have ever before, but more importantly, enjoy the experience!
Good Luck,
-Team FitWall
